Essential functions include:
- Plans, organizes and staffs key field positions to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Responsible for personnel transactions such as hiring, performance reviews, wage increases, promotions, etc.
- Determines the scope of work activities on projects, job objectives, schedules, budget considerations and personnel assignments. Reviews and monitors departmental status and progress.
- Monitors overall production of work performed by crew and personnel.
- Develops standards and procedures for the department.
- Acts as liaison with, and provides support to, other departments and divisions, as needed.
- Participates in planning and budgeting activities for field operations.
- Researches, develops and promotes new methods of construction to make the company more competitive.
- Works closely with each superintendent to ensure proper development and growth as a manager and leader of personnel. Ensures that each employee has a full and challenging workload and schedules work accordingly.
- Ensures proper delegation of authority and responsibility for effective management control within the department and the field.
- Reviews WIP Report with management on overall job performance.
- Assures communication and effective implementation of field training resulting in continued growth of each employee.
- Promotes a proactive safety culture through coaching and mentoring
- Leads safety committee
- Communicates safety information to employees.
- Ensures proper safety guidelines are adhered to on all projects.
- Assumes any additional duties as the President may deem necessary.
